Composition:

  • Active ingredient: Ammonium Chloride (NH4Cl)
  • Solvent: Sterile Water for Injection

Properties:

  • pH: 4.5 – 6

Note:

  • When Ammonium Chloride solution is introduced into the blood, ammonium ions (NH4+) can easily pass through the red blood cell membrane, posing a risk of hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells).
  • Adding Glucose to the solution can help increase the stability of the red blood cell membrane, minimizing the risk of hemolysis.
