The Transparent Media of the Eyeball

The eyeball contains transparent media, which play a crucial role in refracting light and maintaining the shape of the eye.

Aqueous humor, a transparent fluid, is secreted from the ciliary body into the posterior chamber, the area behind the iris. It then flows through the pupil into the anterior chamber, the area in front of the iris. Finally, it drains into the angle of the iridocorneal angle and exits into the scleral venous sinus.

Aqueous humor serves to nourish the cornea and lens, helping to maintain their function. The intraocular pressure is maintained at a stable level due to the balance between secretion and absorption. Therefore, the intraocular pressure does not change.
