Glucose 5% Solution for Infusion (Russian Pharmacopoeia)

Glucose 5% solution for infusion is produced according to the Russian Pharmacopoeia, ensuring minimal glucose caramelization.

Composition:

• Anhydrous glucose

• 0.1N HCl solution (to adjust pH to 3-4)

• Sterile water for injection

Mechanism:

• NaCl is used to complex with glucose, which helps to minimize caramelization and make it compatible with the body’s physiological fluid.

• Sterilization is performed by heat at 121oC for 15 minutes.

Note:

• After sterilization for the required time, the medication should be removed immediately to ensure the best quality.
