Sodium Bicarbonate 1.4% Solution
Composition:
- Active ingredient: Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3) 1.4%
- Solvent: Sterile Water for Injection
Properties:
- Isotonic solution
- pH: 7-8.5
Action:
- Directly provides bicarbonate ions (HCO3-) to help restore acid-base balance.
Notes:
- The sterilization process can decompose NaHCO3, reducing bicarbonate concentration and increasing the alkalinity of the product.
- Maintaining bicarbonate content in the solution requires attention:
- Bubble CO2 into the solution before bottling and sterilization.
- Apply special bottling techniques: fill the medicine in sealed glass bottles, invert the bottles during steam sterilization, allow to cool completely after sterilization before removing, shake the bottles vigorously to dissolve CO2 back into the solution.
- Add disodium EDTA to lock Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions, preventing precipitation.
Usage:
- Use as directed by a doctor or healthcare professional.
Storage:
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
- Do not use expired products.
